Yes, Canpar will collect parcels from your door. You book the pickup once the label is created, for a business day, with a time window when your parcels are ready. In some areas Canpar only collects on certain weekdays, so the date you ask for can be moved. On MesColis, a Canpar pickup is booked right when you pay for the label, with no separate step. Confirm the date and conditions when you book.
How to book a Canpar pickup
Canpar is a ground delivery network built mainly for business shippers, and collecting from the sender's address is a normal part of how it works. The basic rule is the same as at other carriers: you book the pickup after creating the shipment, because the driver collects parcels that are already labelled.
- Create the shipment and attach the label to every parcel before the driver arrives.
- Choose a business day and the time from which the parcels will be ready.
- Have someone on site until the end of the window, or leave clear instructions (front desk, dock, back door).
- Keep the pickup number: it is what you quote if the driver does not show up.
Canpar pickup on MesColis
When you choose a Canpar rate on MesColis, the pickup is not a separate task. At the handover step you pick the date and a time window, and the pickup is booked with Canpar when the label is bought. The windows start at 9 AM, noon or 3 PM and all end at 5 PM: the start time is when your parcels will be ready.
| Stage | What you do | What MesColis does |
|---|---|---|
| Before payment | You choose the date and window | The total, pickup included, is shown before you pay |
| At payment | You pay for the label | The pickup is booked with Canpar |
| Date refused | Nothing | The first date Canpar accepts is booked, and you are told by email |
| Cancellation | You cancel the shipment | The pickup is released at Canpar |
At the time of writing, no pickup fee is added to a Canpar rate on MesColis. Still go by the total shown before payment: that is the figure that counts. On MesColis, Canpar serves shipments within Canada only.
Pickup days and moved dates
Canpar pickups run on business days, not weekends. There is a catch many shippers find out too late: in some areas Canpar only collects on certain weekdays. Ask for another day and the date is refused. On MesColis, rather than leaving a paid label with no driver, the booking moves automatically to the next date Canpar accepts, and an email tells you the new date.
Pickup days, cut-off times and pickup conditions vary by area and can change. Nothing in this guide is a carrier commitment: the confirmed date is the one shown after booking, and the shipment price is the one at the quote step.
Changing or cancelling a Canpar pickup
Canpar does not let you edit a pickup once it is booked: to change the date you cancel and book again. So on MesColis a Canpar pickup cannot be changed online. Cancel it and contact support to book a new one. If you cancel the shipment itself, the pickup is released at Canpar. Once the driver has attempted the pickup, it can no longer be cancelled.
If a pickup does not suit you at all, drop-off is still an option: our guide to Canpar drop-off locations explains where to bring a parcel that is already labelled.
Compare before you book
A free pickup is convenient, but it does not guarantee the best price or the fastest date. On the same parcel, the winning carrier changes with the postal code, the weight and the dimensions. MesColis is not a carrier: we show the carriers that serve your lane side by side, each with its price, estimated date and handover option (pickup or drop-off).
With a free MesColis account, no contract and no minimum volume, compare Canpar with the other carriers that serve your lane, then book the pickup together with the label.
