Two carriers for shipments within Canada
Canpar is a Canadian parcel carrier. UniUni is a parcel delivery service focused on e-commerce. On MesColis, our integration offers each of them only for Canada-to-Canada shipments.
For a parcel to the US or abroad, neither Canpar nor UniUni will appear in the comparison: the other carriers that serve the lane will be in the running instead. For a shipment within Canada, the two can compete, and that is where the choice is made.

First filter: coverage of your lane
Since the destination does not separate them, coverage comes first. The two networks do not have the same footprint, and neither one necessarily serves every postal code in the country. Check that your lane is served for both addresses, especially outside the major centres, rather than inferring it from a carrier's reputation.
If only one of the two serves your lane, the question is settled for that shipment. If both serve it, move on to the service level, the total price and the estimated date for the same parcel.
The service level
On MesColis, Canpar is quoted within Canada in several levels: Ground, Select and Overnight. Depending on the lane, you may therefore see more than one Canpar option for the same parcel, each with its own price and estimated date.
For UniUni, read the exact service shown on the quote. Then compare service against service, not one carrier name against another: a faster option and an economy option do not answer the same need.
The delivery address: PO boxes
UniUni says it does not deliver to post offices or PO boxes. For Canpar, confirm the address before shipping: a street address is the safe route. If your customer gave a PO box, confirm the address with them or use an eligible Canada Post service instead.
Compare rates for the same parcel
There is no universal price winner. The result changes with the postal codes, the actual weight, the packed dimensions, the dimensional weight and the options you choose.
- Use the same postal codes, weight and packed dimensions for both quotes.
- Compare the total, not the base rate: surcharges, fuel and options add up.
- Record the exact service of each option, not just the carrier name.
- For a multi-box shipment, compare the total for all the boxes, not the price of one.
For handover, check the pickup or drop-off options available at your address for each of the two, and the cut-off time for your area: a parcel handed over after the cut-off leaves the next business day.
