UPS vs Nationex: Which to Choose in Canada? (2026)

A global network and a Quebec network

UPS publishes five domestic services in Canada, plus export services to the United States and the rest of the world. The choice is therefore made by service first: the shorter the timeline, the firmer the commitment.

Nationex is a company active since 1980, with its head office in Saint-Hubert, Quebec. It does not publish a range of services but two zones: 24 hours in most regions of Quebec and Ontario, and 3 to 5 days in the rest of Canada. Its Ontario page adds next-day delivery across the Greater Toronto Area and the Quebec–Ontario corridor.

UPS vs Nationex: published services and timelines

The UPS guarantee covers Express Early, Express and Express Saver where those services are available: if UPS is late, it credits or refunds the transportation charges, on request. We found no delivery-time guarantee or late-delivery refund on nationex.com.

PO boxes, the United States and weekends

• PO box: according to UPS Canada, a package addressed to a PO box could be delayed, is not covered by any UPS guarantee and incurs an address correction charge. Nationex does not say on its site whether it delivers to PO boxes. For a PO box, Canada Post remains the usual route.
• Outside Canada: UPS publishes services from Canada to the United States (Express, Express Saver, Expedited, Standard) and to the rest of the world. We found no service outside Canada on nationex.com.
• Saturday: UPS Standard delivers on Saturday in major metropolitan areas. Nationex advertises no Saturday or Sunday delivery.
• Holidays: Nationex provides neither delivery nor pickup on its 2026 calendar holidays, including Quebec's Fête nationale on June 24. UPS timelines are counted in business days.

How to choose for your parcel

• Parcel within Quebec or Ontario, next day without a guarantee: compare Nationex with UPS Standard or Expedited on the same route.
• Parcel that must arrive tomorrow, with a possible refund if late: UPS Express or Express Saver, guaranteed across Canada.
• Parcel to another province: Nationex advertises 3 to 5 days; UPS Expedited targets the 2nd business day in all 10 provinces.
• Parcel to the United States or abroad: UPS, since nationex.com presents no service outside Canada.
• Recipient often away: Nationex offers an authorization to deliver without a signature, to be signed before shipping.
• For both, count from the moment the carrier has the parcel, not from when the label was created.
